It’s been an amazing last few years for the up-and-coming Oslo duo (now LA-based) Lemaitre. The two 23-year old bandmates, Ketil Jansen and Ulrik Denizou Lund inked a deal with Astralwerks (home of Brian Eno, Deadmau5, Duke Dumont, Röyksopp), and released a new EP on the label late in July. They have managed to amass a million+ followers on Soundcloud, have collaborated with the likes of Porter Robinson, Martin Solveig, Mat Zo, and Camo & Krooked, and topped the Hype Machine and iTunes Electronica and Dance charts on several occasions.
This weekend they embark on a 7-week, 40-date North American tour with Porter Robinson, beginning in Vancouver, and ending in Miami. Powering their amazing visual stage show will be none other than the Razer Blade laptop.
Their lyrical originals sound like a cross between Phoenix and Daft Punk, while they’re remixes tend to take on Justice kind of electro-funk club sensibility. Most easily described as modern indie-electro with big festival appeal, loaded with funk, quirky electronic touches, and a big bottom end. Peep the teaser from their new EP here:
